Ligonier, Indiana 46767
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Ligonier. This city
has so much to offer! Founded in 1835, you will find
filled with a collection of the most unique variety of Historic Architecture in Northern Indiana.
Although we work hard to preserve our historic past, we strive to achieve much in the present and at the same time plan for the future.
In the past year, Ligonier has been recognized for "Going Green" with the largest recycling project in the state. We were first to be named a "Good Works Indiana" community by the Governor's office.
We partnered with America in Bloom which is a program that is focused on "planting pride in our communities." Ligonier was recognized for our community environmental awareness at the annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio. Adding a very strong spirit of volunteerism Ligonier has received 1.2 million dollars in grants.
Ligonier's variety of churches, schools, service clubs, job opportunities, parks, sites of interest, and festivals make it a great place to live. We consider our community leaders and citizens to be our greatest asset.
As mayor, I find Ligonier to be a caring, sharing community with a focus on quality of life. No matter if you come to visit or are looking to relocate, I encourage you to join us!
Mayor Patty Fisel
